A long agent response can explain a result without making it easy to explore. Cursor’s October 16 update adds another output format: cloud agents can create interactive canvases and share the finished work through a link.

The same release introduces an Environments API in beta for creating and managing the cloud environments agents use. These are separate additions: one concerns how a result is presented, the other how the place where work runs is managed. [Cursor’s changelog](https://cursor.com/changelog/cloud-agent-canvases-and-environments) documents both.

## An output people can inspect

For a team discussing a proposed interface, an interactive artifact could make the conversation more concrete than a paragraph describing it. A reviewer can point to behavior, ask about a state, or identify what still needs to be implemented.

That does not turn a canvas into proof that production code is ready. Our suggested evaluation is to keep the artifact, the repository changes, and the acceptance criteria together. Check what the canvas actually demonstrates and what exists only in the explanation. For the environments beta, start with a reproducible setup and verify that another agent session can perform the same basic task before relying on it for a larger project.
