A developer can delegate a change to an agent and still leave the rest of the team wondering what happened. Atlassian’s October 7 Team ’26 Europe update expands Jira’s connections to coding agents, putting the task and its progress back beside the work item.
The post lists Devin, Factory, and Warp as available Marketplace integrations. It describes assigning a work item or mentioning an agent in a comment, with the ticket providing context and progress returning there. OpenAI Codex integration and local-session tracking were marked as forthcoming in that announcement. The dated product update separates shipped capabilities from planned ones.
A better handoff begins before the agent runs
Take a bug that appears only when a customer changes a setting twice. The useful ticket includes that reproduction, the expected behavior, and the checks needed before release. Moving that context through Jira could make the work easier for colleagues to follow than a private agent conversation.
The integration is not evidence that a proposed patch is correct. In a pilot, ask whether a reviewer can trace the result back to the request, inspect the diff, and reproduce the fix. Check the chosen integration’s installation, repository access, and commercial terms separately; a Jira connection does not make every agent interchangeable.
