A project decision may sit in a meeting while its supporting document lives elsewhere. Zoom’s latest search update connects those records so colleagues can recover the discussion across tools.

At Zoomtopia on October 20, Zoom announced agentic search across Meetings, Phone, Chat, and more than 40 third-party applications, including ServiceNow, Workday, Google Drive, and Microsoft OneDrive. The company lists the search capability as available now.

Search the conversation and the connected record

Zoom’s Unified Context Layer combines conversation information with company knowledge and connected business systems. For a weekly handoff, the question is whether colleagues can recover what changed without reopening every meeting and document separately.

Access is worth checking before building that workflow. The ZoomMate product page places search of connected third-party sources in the paid ZoomMate offering, while Basic search has a limited scope. Confirm the plan and sources enabled in your organization rather than assuming every account searches every app.

Other announcements have different dates: Zoom says launching workflows from Claude and Codex is expected in November, while the standalone My Notes mobile app is expected in December. Those should not be confused with the search release.

Start with a decision whose original records you can check. Compare the answer with those records before briefing someone who missed the discussion.
